HISTORY OF KICKBOXING

Kickboxing is a modern form of martial arts. Kickboxing in other words is also described as full-contact Karate. Martial arts gain popularity during the early seventies. Many of American Karate practitioners became frustrated with the rules that did not allow full-contact blows or fights to the knockout. They wanted to see how effective their fighting style was in a realistic situation and so Kickboxing originated in United States.

 Thai-Kickboxing commonly knows as “Muay Thai” is also a form of martial art which is also called as Kickboxing. Thai Kickboxing originated in Thailand and is the most brutal form of sports in which knees and elbows are used freely which may be hit to any part of the body.
Thus was the born of Kickboxing and those of practioners who wanted to concentrate on tournament fighting were inspired to develop kickboxing.

HISTORY OF ZSKI KICKBOXING

 Sensei Naresh Sharma a 4th Dan Blackbelt Karate and a International player of Kickboxing started his own Karate and Kickboxing Organization which he named as Zanshin Shito-Ryu Karate-Do India ZSKI mainly focusing on Karate but also imparting training on kickboxing for students who desire to learn this unique art.

ZSKI is the initial for his Organization which he gave to Kickboxing group and thus formed ZSKI Kickboxing. His main idea is to practice this art along with Karate so the student of ZSKI excels in both the fields.

STYLES OF KICKBOXING

There are lot of Kickboxing organizations and lots of styles of Kickboxing. Every organization, style has its own rules.

Kick-Boxing Styles are as follows:-

Semi-Contact In semi contact kickboxing, points are awarded for punches and kicks that are delivered with reasonable force. After every successful delivery of technique the fight is been stopped and points are awarded. The bout is duration commonly is 2 minutes each.

Light-Contact Light-contact division is a route which leads to full contact. Light contact uses controlled techniques. The fight is continuous and is not stopped after every delivery of the technique. The fight is only stopped after clinching occurs and is continued. The round is same as in semi contact while a minute rest in between. The safety equipment worn is instep guard, groin guard, shin guard, gloves, head guard and gum shield.

Full Contact Full contact kickboxing bouts are fought in a ring like those of boxing ring. In this event candidates are allowed to deliver all their techniques with full force and speed, hence knockout are commonly seen in these bouts. Amateur Kickboxing bouts duration is two minutes into 3 rounds followed by one minutes rest in between.

Thai-Kickboxing Thai Kickboxing is a full contact sport where elbows, knees & lower kicks are directed towards head and body. Muay Thai bouts last for 5 rounds of 3 minutes each followed by 1 minutes rest in between. No protective equipments allowed wearing except groin guard and gloves.

Aerobic Kickboxing Aerobic kickboxing is an excellent form of training designed to burn out maximum calories and gives excellent fitness, conditioned & toned body, as well as improves stamina, endurance, speed, balance, agility, flexibility, balance and able to defend oneself.
