ABOUT HISTORY
A long time years
ago an Indian Monk from south-India (Kanchipuram)
named as Bodhitara later came to be known as Bodhitara (Japanese know him as Daruma
Taishi) traveled to China through the ways of
Himalayas to China to spread Zen Buddhism. He visited to the emperor of
Chinese dynasty who was spreading Buddhism by the way of building monuments,
reciting sutras etc. The King asked him that " he is doing so much for
Buddhism what will Buddha give him in return on this Daruma
replied “none" the king couldn't get the answer properly
because in Zen Buddhism "a good deed done in getting of a good favour is not a true deed". The King was angry on hearing the answer
and immediately ordered Daruma to leave the
dynasty. While returning on its way back he came across a Shaolin monastery of China and he found that the monks
of the monastery were growing weak and couldn't meditate due to the lack of
physical activity neither were able to defend themselves from robbers,
thieves etc. Bodhitara was an expert in Indian
Martial Arts as well as much Indian art like Yoga. “Ekkin Kyo”
a sutra developed by Daruma was taught to
the monks. He taught them few techniques of martial art for self defense as
well as for self improvement. Later Chinese developed this form into a
excellent martial art know to us today as Shaolin
Art of Fighting, Wu-Shu or Kung-Fu.
Later during the cultural exchange between China & Okinawa many
cultural activities were introduced in Okinawa
and Chinese martial art was one of them. Okinawan's
blended this art of fighting with their native art know as "Tode" which was know as Karate as (Chinese Hand).
Later Great teacher of Karate-Do Master Gichin
Funakoshi named this art as Karate-Do.
Later on many masters developed their own fighting styles which are know to
us today but the five major styles of Karate-Do are as follows:-

HISTORY
SHITO-RYU KARATE-DO
Master Kenwa Mabuni
began his training in Karate as a young boy in Okinawa.
He was the young seventeenth generation descendent of the famous Okinawan samurai family named Onigusikuni
and was very proud of his heritage. He was the student of Master Yasutsune Itosu (nickname “Anko”) from the town Shuri
and learnt the Kata most correctly among all.
Master Itosu encouraged Mabuni
to keep training and Mabuni sensei trained very
hard and learned the "twenty three swift fists" from him.
Mabuni sensei also
studied under Master Kanryo Higashionna
and Arakaki Seisho of Naha. He also studied Kempo from a Chinese man Gokenki,
a tea merchant, who lived in Okinawa and who came from the Fukkien province in China. Mabuni
sensei later combined the teachings of Itosu and Higashionna and called his system Shito-Ryu
Karate-Do. The word SHITO is a combination of two Kanji characters from the
name of Master Kanryo Higashionna
and Master Anko Itosu.
The Mabuni Kata
repertoire of Shito-Ryu combines the Shuri-Te, Naha-Te and Tomari-Te
lineage Kata into a set used from all three
sources.
Students must study both styles
with the understanding of their distinctive characteristics. The Itosu school is famous for the combination of light and
quick movements focusing on speed, and the Higaonna
school is famous for large and powerful techniques supported by breathing.
However, techniques should not be a halfway mixture of the Itosu and Higaonna school. Shito-Ryu practitioners are aware of the fact that Shito-Ryu techniques always strive for perfection of
techniques which descended from both schools, Itosu
and Higaonna.
HISTORY OF SEISHINKAI MOTOBU-HA
SHITO-RYU KARATE-DO
Soke Kunio Tatsuno's contribution
made Motobu-Ha Shito-ryu
a worldwide known style with thousands of members all over the world. In
1996 Soke Tatsuno
founded the "World Karate Promotion Foundation" (WKPF) and became
known worldwide for his project "Karate to the Olympics". Thanks
to his enormous efforts, Karate finally got recognized by the IOC as a
sport for future Olympic Games. In 1998 Soke Tatsuno established the International Seishinkai Karate Union
(ISKU). We are all very sorry that Soke Tatsuno had no time to see his “Olympic dream” come true.
After Soke Kunio
Tatsuno passed away on 1st of May 1999,
ISKU was successfully restructured and in 2003 ISKU was officially
recognized in Japan.
Today, Kaicho Burgermeister
is the President and C.E.O of ISKU with the World Head Office located in
the USA.
ISKU is an international style organization striving for high principles
and focusing on etiquette, discipline and excellent Budo
manners. ISKU is growing day by day and as of October 2007, ISKU has 71
registered Dojos in 36 countries and US-states

MESSAGE FROM
TECHNICAL DIRECTOR-INDIA
Karate-Do is a
martial art which improves an individual in all the ways, one can say its
an art of changing a weak person to a strong and responsible person. It
also improves one’s attitude positive
towards the world and can contribute to make this world a better place. According
to my experience in Karate-Do it has changed my life and attitude completely which I can
describe as an art of improving the quality of life. According to me
everyone in this world should spent at least some of his time in Karate-Do
training and understanding the martial arts.
Time has been
changing rapidly human combat has changed into nuclear combat, as there is
no need of fighting manually except in the case of self defense but you can
learn the martial arts for self-development rather than destruction. There
are thousands of benefits hidden in Karate-do training, which should be
utilized properly so that each and every individual should benefit from it.
The ZSKI is the form with the aim of”Sustaining the Highest value of
Karate-Do" and to teach the art in its purest form. Learn the art of
Karate-Do with its truest essence as martial art so you can defend yourself
at any time and develop your physical & mental ability so the
quality of your life is raised.
ZSKI is a place where all people can come together on one platform and
practice Karate-Do with any kind of discrimination of age, sex,
nationality, race, social status, or profession.
